I feel like putting it down on proverbial paper will curse it (I’ll risk it), but it looks like I’ll be packing up my life here in South Africa and shipping over to the UK at the end of this year.
Queue nervous excitement.
It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I left high school but always managed to think of an excuse to stay here one more year. I’m not one of those people who hates South Africa. I’m educated enough to know that there is crime and poverty everywhere and plus I grew up here and it’s not as bad as the stories you hear.
But it’s time for an adventure. Pretty much the only thing holding me back is Emma; I’m going to have to teach her how to Skype before I leave. She’s a clever dog, I’m sure she’ll be able to do it.
I’ve been as far as Thailand so this is way way WAY out of my comfort zone. I keep looking for ideas of places to live, get completely overwhelmed and close all 17 tabs I have open on Rightmove.co.uk
Does anyone have any ideas for me? Best case scenario would be getting a job at my company’s holding branch in London itself and would therefore need to stay close enough to not spend half my time awake travelling to and from work but also far enough away from London to not have to sell a kidney for rent.
